Hi, I’m Allie. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University in Greenville, SC. After graduation, I felt God calling me to pursue education in counseling, so I moved to St. Louis and received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary. I also took several classes from University of Missouri-St. Louis. The combination of state university and seminary training has equipped me to understand and use psychological theories and techniques through the lens of God’s truth.
I specialize in anxiety disorders and trauma. I completed my EMDR training through the EMDR Institute in 2008 and am a member of EMDRIA. I am currently pursuing certification in EMDR. After years of working with trauma survivors, I am so excited to now have the training and skills to help them heal much more quickly and completely. I tell everyone that I have the best job on the planet because I get to see miracles happen on a regular basis!
I approach counseling holistically, incorporating the physical, spiritual, emotional, relational and mental aspects of each individual. How we care for ourselves in one area directly impacts all other areas of life. As a runner, I have personally seen the benefits of self care, not only physically but also in my emotional, spiritual, relational and mental well-being. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching movies, and relaxing with my husband. I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey.
